More Room to Perch and Play?

“With 20% more space than the industry standard*, 32 of our Sainsbury’s chickens are farmed within 2.16m2, the area of this poster”

This research-based artwork (right) was created in response to a Sainsbury’s advert with misleading animal welfare claims (left). The poster reveals the stocking density of the farms in Sainsbury’s supply chain, showing 32 chickens at a 1:1 scale. The overhead chicken image shows the same breed that is used in the supply chain, while stocking density information was sourced from Sainsbury’s press releases and animal welfare accreditation scheme websites.
